Series 1 - Understanding your brain poster.jpg

SERIES 1 —

UNDERSTAND YOUR BRAIN. UNDERSTAND YOURSELF.

Twelve weeks of honest, practical workshops designed to help neurodivergent women understand why their brain does what it does — and what actually helps.

Each week we'll take one of those “Why the fuck am I like this?” parts of life, unpack the psychology behind it, challenge some of the shame you've probably accumulated along the way, and give you practical strategies you can actually use in real life.

No fixing you. No becoming more “normal”. No buying another bloody planner.

Just more understanding, better tools and a kinder relationship with your brain.

WEEK 1 — WHY THE FUCK CAN'T I JUST DO IT?

ADHD paralysis, procrastination & motivation

You know what you need to do. You genuinely want to do it. You've probably thought about doing it approximately 400 times.

And yet… you're still not doing it.

This week we'll explore the frustrating gap between knowing and doing. We'll look at executive functioning, task initiation, motivation, procrastination and the different reasons neurodivergent brains can get completely bloody stuck.

You'll start identifying your own version of “stuck” and learn practical ways to reduce the starting line, create momentum and work with your brain instead of repeatedly shouting at it.

You'll leave understanding: It's not simply “I can't be bothered.” So what IS stopping me — and what helps me start?

WEEK 2 — AM I LAZY, OR IS MY BRAIN ABSOLUTELY KNACKERED?

Burnout, overwhelm, masking, shutdown & recovery

You're technically functioning.

You're going to work. Answering messages. Looking after everybody. Getting shit done.

So why do you feel like you could sleep for approximately six months?

This week we'll look at the difference between tiredness, overwhelm and neurodivergent burnout, including the enormous hidden energy cost of masking, compensating, over-functioning and constantly trying to keep up.

We'll explore your warning signs, your personal burnout cycle and why “just rest” isn't always as simple as it sounds.

You'll leave asking: What is draining my battery — and what does genuine recovery look like for my brain?

WEEK 3 — WHY AM I SO SENSITIVE?

Rejection sensitivity, criticism, rumination & emotional regulation

Someone's tone changes.

A message gets a full stop.

Your boss says, “Can we have a quick chat?”

And your brain has already produced, directed and starred in a three-hour psychological thriller.

We'll explore why criticism, rejection, exclusion and perceived disapproval can feel so disproportionately painful, and what happens when those feelings meet rumination and an emotionally reactive nervous system.

Most importantly, we'll work on separating what happened from what your brain decided it meant.

You'll leave with: practical tools for interrupting spirals, regulating big emotions and responding rather than immediately believing the story your brain created.

WEEK 4 — I KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO. SO WHY AREN'T I DOING IT?

Routines, organisation, time blindness, doom piles & systems that actually work

You've bought the planner.

You've downloaded the app.

You've created a beautifully colour-coded routine.

You've used it enthusiastically for approximately three business days.

This week is about why conventional organisation systems often fail neurodivergent brains.

We'll explore time blindness, working memory, transitions, prioritising, visual clutter, doom piles and the exhausting cycle of repeatedly trying to become a person who apparently remembers everything naturally.

Then we'll start building external systems that reduce the amount your brain has to hold.

The goal isn't becoming perfectly organised. It's making everyday life require less bloody effort.

WEEK 5 — EVERYONE THINKS I'M COPING

Masking, perfectionism, people pleasing & over-functioning

Everyone tells you how capable you are.

Meanwhile you're approximately one minor inconvenience away from lying face-down on the kitchen floor.

This week explores the high-functioning/high-masking neurodivergent woman: the one who learned to survive by being useful, agreeable, prepared, successful, independent or “fine”.

We'll unpack masking, perfectionism, people pleasing and over-functioning — and the hidden cost of maintaining an outward appearance of coping.

We'll also start exploring the slightly terrifying question:

Who am I when I'm not performing competence for everybody else?

WEEK 6 — WHY ARE RELATIONSHIPS SO BLOODY HARD?

Communication, attachment, conflict & neurodivergent relationship patterns

You love them.

So why have you just spent 45 minutes analysing the way they said “okay”?

This week looks at the ways neurodivergence can show up inside romantic relationships — emotional intensity, impulsivity, communication differences, reassurance seeking, conflict, attachment, shutdown, hyperfocus and feeling chronically misunderstood.

We'll explore recurring relationship patterns without turning either person into the villain.

You'll leave with: a better understanding of your relationship nervous system, your communication patterns and what helps you feel safe, heard and connected.

WEEK 7 — HORMONES, ADHD & THE NEUROSPICY BRAIN

Periods, PMDD, pregnancy/postpartum & perimenopause

Ever wondered why your ADHD apparently wakes up some mornings and chooses violence?

Hormonal changes can interact with attention, mood, energy and executive functioning — yet many women reach adulthood without anyone ever explaining the connection.

We'll explore neurodivergence across the menstrual cycle and major hormonal transitions, including PMDD, pregnancy/postpartum and perimenopause.

We'll focus on recognising your own patterns, anticipating more difficult periods and adapting expectations and support accordingly.

Because sometimes your coping strategies haven't suddenly stopped working. The conditions your brain is operating under have changed.

WEEK 8 — LATE DIAGNOSED: WHO AM I NOW?

Grief, anger, relief, identity & unmasking

Getting diagnosed — or finally recognising your neurodivergence — can explain your entire life.

And then somehow leave you with even more questions.

Who would I have been if I'd known earlier?

What was actually ADHD/AuDHD?

What parts of me are masking?

And who the hell am I underneath all of it?

We'll explore the complicated mixture of relief, validation, grief, anger and identity change that can accompany later recognition or diagnosis.

This isn't about finding your “real” personality underneath ADHD.

It's about understanding yourself well enough to start building a life that actually fits you.

WEEK 9 — WHEN PEOPLE PLEASING BECOMES SELF-ABANDONMENT

Boundaries, guilt, resentment & saying no

You don't want to do it.

You don't have time to do it.

You are already exhausted.

So naturally you hear yourself saying:

“Yeah, course I can!”

FFS.

This week we'll explore why saying no can feel so uncomfortable, especially when rejection sensitivity, masking, attachment and learned expectations are involved.

We'll look at the difference between kindness and self-abandonment, why resentment builds when boundaries disappear, and how to communicate your needs without writing a twelve-paragraph apology afterwards.

Boundaries aren't about becoming selfish. They're about finally including yourself in the people you consider.

WEEK 10 — ADHD MONEY CHAOS

Impulsive spending, avoidance, dopamine buying & financial shame

Bought something you absolutely didn't need because apparently Future You is a millionaire?

Then avoided checking your bank account because Current You would rather not know?

We're talking money.

Without judgement.

We'll explore impulsive spending, dopamine buying, forgotten subscriptions, avoidance, unopened bills, budgeting difficulties and the shame that can develop around money management.

Then we'll look at practical ways to add friction, visibility, automation and external structure to financial decisions.

No lectures about cancelling Netflix and never buying coffee again. Just realistic strategies for real neurodivergent brains.

WEEK 11 — THE NEUROSPICY MUM

Overstimulation, parenting guilt, household load & neurodivergent families

You love your children more than anything.

You would also quite like everybody to STOP MAKING NOISE FOR FIVE FUCKING MINUTES.

Both things can be true.

This week creates a judgement-free space to talk about neurodivergent motherhood: sensory overload, competing demands, executive load, emotional regulation, guilt and the particular challenge of parenting neurodivergent children while trying to regulate your own nervous system.

We'll look at reducing unnecessary load, recognising overload earlier and moving away from impossible standards of motherhood.

You don't need to become a calmer, Pinterest-perfect mum. You need a family system that accounts for the brains actually living in your house.

WEEK 12 — NEW YEAR, NEW JOURNAL, NEW ME…

Why traditional resolutions fail ND brains — and what to do instead

January arrives.

New planner. New routine. New habits. New life.

THIS IS IT.

Then February arrives and apparently we're the same person. Rude.

Our final week brings everything together.

We'll explore why rigid resolutions and all-or-nothing change can be particularly difficult for neurodivergent brains, and why repeatedly “failing” systems that weren't designed for you can destroy confidence.

Instead, we'll use everything you've learned over the previous eleven weeks to identify what actually works for YOUR brain.

Your patterns.
Your warning signs.
Your needs.
Your systems.
Your strengths.
Your tools.

YOUR PERSONAL NEURODIVERGENT OPERATING MANUAL

Not “New Year, New Me.”

More like:

Same me. Better understanding. Better tools. Much less fucking shame.

Maybe you've spent years wondering why things that seem so easy for everyone else feel so bloody hard for you.

Maybe you've called yourself lazy because you couldn't just do the thing. Too sensitive because things seemed to hurt more deeply. Disorganised because no matter how many planners, lists and systems you tried, eventually everything fell apart again.

Maybe you've been called dramatic. Difficult. Chaotic. Intense. Too much.

Or maybe nobody has noticed at all — because you've become incredibly good at looking like you're coping.

You work. You parent. You show up. You look after everybody else. You get shit done — while quietly wondering why simply being a person seems to take so much bloody effort.

Perhaps the hardest part isn't even having an ADHD or AuDHD brain. It's what you've learned to believe about yourself because nobody ever explained that brain to you.

This series isn't about fixing you or teaching you to behave more like everybody else.

It's twelve weeks of finally making sense of yourself.

Understanding why you get stuck. Why you burn out. Why you overthink. Why rejection hurts. Why relationships can feel complicated. Why sometimes the entire world feels too much - and, most importantly, learning what actually helps.

You'll do it alongside other women who get it. No pretending you're fine. No judgement. No being told to “just try harder”.

Imagine what might change if you stopped fighting your brain and started learning how to work with it.

If you've read this page recognising yourself over and over again, come and join us.
